Situated on a large plot in Bristol, we took a unique approach to this 1930s bungalow. We rebuilt the property with a design identical to a previously approved extension, receiving new planning permission from Bristol City Planning.
Key Features:
Situated on a large plot in Bristol, this project began with a unique challenge: demolishing a 1930s detached bungalow to rebuild it in the same footprint as a previously approved extension. Retaining only the original planning consent, the clients were able to fast-track the demolition and construction of a new dwelling.
Stripping away the single-story bungalow, the project involved a complete rebuild with a new ground-floor slab, effectively doubling the dwelling’s original footprint. We introduced a new roof with a combination of steel and timber frames, creating a new first floor with a master bedroom and ensuite, two guest bedrooms, and a family bathroom.
The result is a substantial and modern home that honors its plot. Our commitment to a high-quality finish is evident in the new grey aluminum metal windows and doors, high-spec concrete tiles, and meticulous brickwork detailing on the plinth and windows.
